Wraparound Care

Wraparound is a team-based planning and problem-solving process to help youth and their families struggling with emotional, mental and behavioral problems.

The Wraparound Process

The process starts by learning about the family’s strengths and needs and then making a plan to address those needs. Wraparound brings together a team of people who are involved in the youth’s and family’s life. This team may include friends, relatives, teachers, counselors, Child Welfare caseworkers, and/or Juvenile Justice counselors.

Care coordinators help everyone work together and organize services in the least restrictive setting possible. Most services take place in the community.

Each plan is unique because it is created for each child or teen and their family. While every plan is different, the Wraparound process always follows the same approach: it is family-driven, youth-guided, strengths-based, and focused on solutions.
